Green Keepers Corner

Taranaki Golf Courses are managed and maintained by a group of volunteer and paid greenkeepers and course superintendents. Their role is to carry out maintenance and renovation to the greens and other aspects of the golf course. They are responsible for all aspects of golf course management from the obvious course grooming and set-up to the behind the scenes duties such as pest management, soil science, health & safety, environmental issues etc.

The Taranaki Golf Course Superintendents Assocation (TGCSA) represents the regional greenkeepers who in turn are represented by the New Zealand Golf Course Superintendents Assocation (NZGCSA)

The TGCSA is governed by an elected committee with a goal …

To provide opportunities and encourage comradeship amongst its members.

This is achieved through an annual programme which includes a number of Educational Days, Field Trips, Machinery and Product Information Days, Attendance to Conferences and Golf Tournaments.

Professionalism is promoted through the recognition of members' achievements at every level from the apprentice to the fully qualified and experienced greenkeeper.

If you have a question regarding any aspect of your golf course maintenance, feel free to contact the assocation:
