Women's 9 Hole Pennants

The last round of the Women’s nine hole Pennant was played on Monday the 29th at Manukorihi. The playing conditions were perfect, not a breath of wind and beautiful sunshine.

There was not a huge points gap between the top three teams and it could have gone to any one of the teams if they had managed to win all their games.

When all the teams’ results were tabulated we had two teams equal on 45 points. The convenor decided that the fairest option would be a play off between the top seeds from each of the two top teams. The ladies were sent back to play one more hole as a decider. The non-phased player from Kaitake White, Jo West, held her composure and ended up winning the hole by 3 shots over the Fitzroy player Pauline Hunt.

Several members of the Taranaki Women’s Executive committee attended to present the trophy and vouchers to the two top teams.
